That’s the second fastest way I’ve blown 60$. That lady I met on the street corner sure was nice though.

No ice. Just add slight - like a teaspoon - amounts of water to desired smoothness.

IMO even a teaspoon is a bit much. Just droplets.

What’s your flavour profile? Ardbeg is quite an acquired taste, it’s VERY peaty.

You’d think so, but if you water it down too much, you simply add more alcohol.*
*You are right. Drops are better but this is the best smart ass comment I could come up with.

Just about any Islay makes my heart go pitter-patter. I prefer my scotch to taste like biting into a chunk of peat.

Fair point, lol. Bring the concentration up again.
I’m considering getting a set of pipettes just for whisky tasting. Didn’t know you can get these on Amazon.

We are at the point where my friends just bought me the box because it looks cool. This would be the first scotch I have ever tried.

Go classy and get a small glass tube. There is a whiskey bar around here someplace that serves all whiskeys with a small glass tube and a small water.

Step 1: Get some of the most water-tasting mineral or spring water you can
Step 2: Chill that water
Step 3: Remove water from fridge
Step 4: Pour and enjoy a dram of that whisky
Step 5: After the water has warmed a bit, pour a dram and drop a few drops of water into it. Swirl for a second, let it rest for a few seconds and enjoy
Decide whether or not that Scotch is better with the water. Now you know how to best drink that particular brand for your tastes.

I have a bottle of this behind my bar right now. Very good stuff. Sip and enjoy is all you need to do.

I do have some whiskey stones from a previous holiday. feel weird about intentionally watering down a drink.

It’s not watering it down. It’s opening it up. Big difference. Watered down it what happens when you ordering something on the rocks. We are talking a few small drops in a shot.
There is science as to why you do this.

I’ve been trying to find that type, but can’t seem to.
Maybe like this but it’s unavailable.

Rule of thumb is anything over 43% ABV you’re actually supposed to “dilute” it. Anything over that the ethanol just overpowers any flavours.

Warning: You’ve jumped straight into intermediate to advanced Scotch. Tread lightly

That’s what I figured lol. I am set to not like it very much but you don’t know until you try. Think I might test out one of the small bottles first.

Sip, sip sip. That’s not a mixing whisky or a slamming whisky. It pairs well with mahogany bookcases, high-back leather chairs and a pipe full of aromatic blend

Ardbeg Uigeadail is amazing. It is intense though. You have been warned.
